Overview
Join us for the first-ever, statewide Massachusetts Civic Engagement Summit featuring Gov. Deval Patrick!
Civic participation in the U.S. has been on the decline for the past 30 years, and here in Massachusetts, our state ranks 34th in the nation for volunteerism and 16th in the nation for voter participation according to recent studies.
Finding ways to improve civic engagement and trust is critical to the longer-term health of the Massachusetts economy, democracy, and families.
As a way to address these issues and engage citizens statewide in making a difference, a collaborative group of leaders representing more than 30 non-profit and civic organizations is planning the first-ever Massachusetts Civic Engagement Summit at the DCU Center in Worcester, from 9am to 4pm on November 16, 2007.
