James Magerman

IT Consultant

James Magerman serves as a Consultant for Common Impact, concentrating on our IT practice. In this capacity, James is responsible for helping our nonprofit clients craft solutions to address their most pressing challenges across a range of functions. As the most recent addition to the team, James will work at creating teams of talented employee-volunteers who will execute projects for our nonprofit clients, and ensure that the solutions they create meet the needs of those nonprofits we serve. James is excited to join the team at Common Impact because of our dedication towards unleashing the potential of all of our partners, corporate and nonprofit, to tackle the important social challenges of the day.

James comes to Common Impact after working as the Director of Technology Services for the Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention. In this role, he was responsible for managing the evolving technology infrastructure of the organization, to provide new tools for their school based mental health programs and organizational analysis functions. James also worked with a number of school systems developing more robust data management and analytic tools for managing bullying and discipline tracking. He feels that his familiarity with many of the common technological challenges faced by nonprofit organizations will be beneficial in helping him design high impact projects for Common Impact's clients.

James holds a B.S. in Clinical & Community Psychology from the University of Michigan with highest honors, and an MBA in Nonprofit Management and MS in Information Systems, both with honors, from Boston University.
