Karen Horwitz

Vice President of Service Development

imageAs Vice President of Service Development, Karen Horwitz is responsible for creating the processes and tools needed to design operations and finance projects. Continuing her role as Marketing Consultant, she also helps Common Impact's clients develop a strategic approach for their marketing ambitions. Her client work includes facilitating conversations about organizational identity, conducting market research, and assessing the effectiveness of marketing materials. Karen also manages teams of corporate volunteers who implement tactical solutions for our nonprofit clients, amplifying their impact.

Karen came to Common Impact with private and nonprofit sector experience as a marketer and strategist. She began her career as the Executive Director of Littleton Main Street, a downtown revitalization program in New Hampshire. She then moved to Forrester Research where she developed customer acquisition strategies for retail clients. Most recently, Karen was Graduate Fellow at Root Cause, where she helped position her clients for growth and increased impact.

Karen earned a B.A. in Sociology at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and an MBA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Finance from Boston University.
