Karen Horwitz
Regional Director, Northeast

As the Northeast Regional Director, Karen develops deep relationships with corporate partners and nonprofits in Boston and New York and leads the outreach to new corporate and nonprofit clients in these markets. Karen also generates research, tools, and frameworks to share Common Impact’s expertise in designing, managing and running skills-based volunteering programs. Karen has been a part of the Common Impact team since 2006, serving as Marketing Consultant and then Vice President of New Service Development.
Karen came to Common Impact with both private and nonprofit sector expertise as a marketer and strategist. She began her career as the Executive Director of Littleton Main Street in New Hampshire. She then moved to Forrester Research where she developed marketing strategies for large and travel retail clients. Karen earned a B.A. in Sociology at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and an MBA in Public and Nonprofit Management and Finance from Boston University.
