Elizabeth Shea Fries

Elizabeth Shea Fries is a partner in Goodwin Procter's Financial Services Practice and the Leader of its Hedge Fund Practice. She has particular expertise in innovative investment products, fiduciary issues and compliance matters. Liz has guided numerous mutual funds, investment advisers, banks, private funds and other financial services clients through leveraged management buyouts, stock and asset acquisitions, mergers, outsourcing arrangements and private and public offerings of securities. She advises firms regarding complex compliance issues resulting from the operation and integration of a variety of investment businesses, and assists in the creation of new firms and products.

Liz is a member of the International, American and Boston Bar Associations. She is a former chair of the Business Law Section of the Boston Bar Association and is currently a member of the Executive Committee for the Boston Chapter of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.
