John Fiore
Executive Vice President, The Bank of New York Mellon
John A. Fiore is an Executive Vice President of The Bank of New York Mellon and Head of Asset Servicing Technology. He has global responsibility for providing and supporting the enabling technology needed by the various lines of business within Asset Servicing, Broker/Dealer Services and Hedge Fund Administration.
Prior to joining The Bank of New York Mellon, John was an independent consultant and advisor to several financial services organizations, leading venture capital firms and a number of early-stage technology companies.
He was most recently EVP & CIO of State Street Corporation. During his 10 years at State Street he headed corporate as well as operating line IT organizations. Both John and State Street, during his tenure there, were recognized as leaders in technology by several industry organizations, including: ComputerWorld's Premier 100 Leaders in IT for 2000; CIO Magazine's CIO 100 for 1999, 2000 and 2002; ComputerWorld's 100 Best Places to Work for 2000, 2001, 2002; and InformationWeek 500 for 2000, 2001 and 2002.
Prior to his tenure with State Street Corporation, John was a Partner within the technology practice of Coopers & Lybrand. John's technology management consulting experience span more than 17 years and focused on improving business performance through integration of total quality management concepts, information technology, business practice change and process re-engineering.
Prior to consulting, John worked at Bolt, Beranek & Newman (BBN) as a systems analyst responsible for the design, development and implementation of management information systems. Before BBN, John was at Raytheon Company as a scientific computer programmer responsible for the design, development and implementation of sophisticated computer simulations.
